How do I take an ACC class?

Important Notice Regarding US History!
ACC History 1302 is the class for High School US History credit.
Do NOT choose ACC History 1301.
Taking an ACC Class

New ACC students, start at step 1 and follow ALL steps.

Returning students , start at step 5.

BEFORE you sign up for a class, make sure that you are signing up for the correct class that will award high school credit. Go to the SSIG ACC Class List
Step 1: College Readiness

If needed, take the TSI test.
-
The TSI test throughout the year by Mrs. Nix in the College & Career Center. Come by Room 130 and schedule a time to take it.

Complete the Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) prior to testing at www.austincc.edu/tsiprep.

Step 2: Attend Information Session (recommended)
HS Programs Information Sessions are a great way to learn more about dual credit options, what is dual credit, costs and benefits, as well as the next steps to becoming an ACC student. Check with your high school counselor or with Mrs. Nix to learn more about potential in-person Info Sessions or

Step 3: Application (new ACC students)

Go to https://austincc.force.com/ApplicationPortal to begin the enrollment process.

Set up an application account by clicking: First Time Users Click Here. (Note: This is not your ACC application. You must complete this step before moving on to the actual application.)

Locate the Dual Credit box and click on Apply Now! If you need to stop at any point prior to completing your application, just click on the box at the top of the screen that says “Save my progress and resume later.”

Be sure to use a PERSONAL email. DO NOT use your AISD email.

Input and Confirm your Personal and Demographic information, followed by searching for and selecting your high school, and inputting your start & end dates (i.e. when you started and when you will graduate).

Make sure to click Review on the Certification & Signature page, and then click Confirm to submit.

Within 24hrs (excluding weekends/holidays) you will receive a confirmation e-mail at the address provided on the application containing your ACCeID and instructions on how to activate your ACCeID account and online tools. Keep your ACCeID and password somewhere safe and accessible.

Step 4: Orientation (new ACC students)

Complete the required new student HS Programs Online Orientation at https://hsporientation.austincc.edu/

Failure to complete the orientation and its assessment quiz will result in a registration hold!
Step 5: Enrollment Documents

Complete the Google form and also complete HS Programs Early Admission Contract and turn in to Mrs. Nix. PLEASE physically give this form to Mrs. Nix. Do not put it in her box. This step requires a one-on-one with Mrs. Nix to finalize course details.
Step 6: Plan and Register

Use the Self-Service planning tool to plan & register for classes during the open registration period, and be sure to check your balance to verify if payment is due.

If you do not register for the class on the ACC website, you are not in the class!
Step 7: Schedule

Print your schedule to show your counselor.

Important things to consider:

ACC is a college and a separate entity. We only facilitate the Dual Credit process. Make sure that you understand that you will be expected to produce college-level work. Decisions and actions made now, which include dropping a class or failing a class, may impact your ability to receive financial aid with ACC in the future.

Students are responsible for how well they do in the class.

Students are responsible for registering themselves and for textbooks.

We CANNOT register or drop a student from a class.

We CANNOT see how students are doing in a class.

We do NOT have access to your ACC transcript.

Students are responsible for having their ACC transcript sent to McCallum's registrar once the student’s class is complete

To send a sealed official transcript to McCallum, use the following address:
