The FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will open October 1!

Go to fafsa.gov to complete and submit.

Per House Bill 3, it is a graduation requirement that ALL seniors should complete and submit their FAFSA for college (or the opt-out form). You will do this every year you plan to attend college. By submitting your FAFSA, you're telling colleges you want to be considered for financial aid - scholarships, grants and loans. Financial aid is awarded on a first come first serve basis. Submit your FAFSA NOW!!!!

You must submit proof to Ms. Nix via Google form or email to her at camille.nix@austinisd.org to complete the graduation requirement.

Remember, aid is awarded on a first come first serve basis, be the first to apply!

To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov, you will need:

  • Yours and your parent(s)/guardian's Social Security Number

  • Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)

  • Yours and your parent(s)/guardian's 2020 federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, DO THIS IF POSSIBLE)

  • Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)

  • Records of untaxed income (if applicable)

  • An FSA ID to sign electronically for both you and a parent/guardian. Apply for your FSA ID on fafsa.gov.

If you have any questions, please see Camille Nix in Room 130. She is very happy to assist with this VERY important step in your college plans.
